Dingley -

Post by Hugo »

Being new to the forum, hopefully I am posting this on the right board. Anyway, I am introducing my daughter to fly fishing. I have, what I believe is an old Dingley reel (could be 3 7/16 or 3 1/2, not sure) which I was planning to set her up with . As you can see from the photos the spring has been repaired. Despite this, the reel works well. However, I was thinking it would be sensible to get a replacement it case it breaks again. I was wondering if there is someone out there who is able to reproduce a similar spring, I suspect there aren't any originals still available. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

I would see what Bill Archuleta could do for you. Do a Google for Archuleta Reel Works to get information.
