One-weight taper

The exchange of tapers forum is for classic and personally developed tapers. The definition of classic tapers are those tapers that were developed by rodmakers that are no longer alive. Please understand that rod makers who have developed their tapers, and are active in the community, should not have their tapers cloned, or shared, without their permission, please refrain for asking for those tapers as it infringes on the maker.

One-weight taper

For giggles I’d like to attempt a one-weight rod, I’ve lost my taper for Tony Spezio’s rod, don’t know of others. Sources?

Here is Tony's post to the Rodmakers email list from 8/1/2011. I'm not sure what a "trenched" ferrule is. Maybe just truncated?

I have gotten a number of requests for the 1 wt taper. It can be found on Larry's DNA but I thought I would post it. It is a neat little bluegill rod, I have made 11 of them. Some made on this taper and some with .002 added to the tip section. The rod is 6'3" uses a 9 trenched ferrule, an 8mm stripper and a 3.5 tip top. The reel seat is a .650 X 3 1/2".

It can be made on this taper but I like it better with .001 added to the form setting for the tip section. Art Port made one on the taper below. He had it at the 07 Gathering.
