H.L Leonard Bamboo Fly Rod Value?

This is the board to ask about the identity, or for an appraisal, of a rod. Please use the outline as explained on the board. If there is a makers name, list that in the subject line. Make sure you include the length, number of sections, any identifying markings and the general condition. Adding photographs is always helpful!

H.L Leonard Bamboo Fly Rod Value?

#1

Post by stoffa »

I have an H.L Leonard bamboo fly rod. Photos are attached. The fly rod is at least 50 years old and was given to me by an uncle. It appears that the ferrule has been replaced. The cloth bag is marked Bob Hall De Luxe. I am trying to determine the value of the rod and possibly sell it. Can you provide me with any info where I can get an estimate of the value?

Thanks in advance,
Al

Those ferrules are from a fiberglass rod and will hurt the value.
The bag is from a Heddon trade rod. A very rare and nice rod from the late 30s. Someone might be interested in that bag.

From the pictures, is this a two piece rod with one tip?
But your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore
They're already overcrowded from your dirty little war
Now Jesus don't like killin', no matter what the reason's for
And your flag decal won't get you into Heaven anymore
