Hello,
I was given a couple rods from a 1930's rental home I remodeled for the owner. I found a poster tube in the attic and when I asked the homeowner what he wanted to do with it he told me the home had been rented to an older man who passed away in his 80's and it may have been his but was told I could keep the tube with rods if I wanted. One of the rods is bamboo and was marked as Orvis 7' 6, #673-#6 and 3 sections.

#3Orvis used to sell "kit" rods that were blanks that people would finish out themselves. Perhaps it's one of them. It actually looks more like a Montague that someone changed the signature and wraps on than an Orvis to me. The reel seat definitely looks Montague.
The wrap colors and pattern, winding check, grip and reel seat are all not anything from Orvis.

#4I agree with the above statement regarding Montague lineage

#5Yes, looks to be a Montague "Sunbeam". Might want to measure all three sections.
