hello, gents and ladies;
i have been assembling spinning rod selections of fishable and wall hanger rod and reel pairs for great grandsons. i am surrounded also with over eighty fly rods of several models. i may not be an expert fisherman but one gentleman commented to my brother watching me cast: "i studied with lee wulff and i have never seen anyone carry that much line in my life". so, i may not be the best fly rod caster in the world, but can at least hold my own. so, with leonards, paynes, edwards, f e ts, garrisons, and other classics, to me, they are all excellent fishing tools; every darned one of them. i can't just be lucky, many of these rods were given to me; it must be that all these classic makers and their extended family of current rodmakers are competent artificers. YMMV!
