I'm making a range of fly reels slowly but surely and as they'll be hard anodized I need to make a worth while number of them for the run of having them processed.
Because of that I've made the reel feet, pawls and gears in a reasonable number so have some spare.
The pawl and gear are laser cut from 2mm thick SS.
The pawl works on my Hardy marquis reel as well as JW Young 1500 series reels.
The gear has a 10mm ID and 21.87mm OD. It's Approx M0.6 module. Because it was laser cut it was slightly scaled to make easier to make which is why it's not exactly M0.6
The reel foot is C38000 Brass and accepts 3mm CS screws and is AFFTA compliant.
I can give you the dwgs of these parts if required.

The first rule is to keep an untroubled spirit. The second is to look things in the face and know them for what they are.

Re: Reel foot(s), gears and pawls
#3Thanks. They're getting there gradually. They've been a while because as I come up with designs I'm trying them out and that just causes me to come up with improvements that have knock on effects but the slow but sure approach has been working for me. I'm on what I hope is the final prototype 2.75" reel now.
I expect them to be ready to go within 6 months.
