Are you left or right handed ?

60 day POLL - Are you left or right handed ?

Follow up question - Do you wind with your left or right hand ?

________________________________________________________________

Being a left handed guy myself - I cast left and reel right handed.

I'm in the same boat as you. cast left and reel right. That's the right way

I am right handed, and reel with my left hand.
Years back I decided to learn how to cast with my left hand, and that saved a season a few years ago when I wrecked my right shoulder.
I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous!

I'm right handed and reel with the left. It's kept me from owning a few classic RHW Hardy reels, but switching the rod to the left hand to wind is awkward at best.

Right handed, reel right handed. It's only right! I've always done it that way because that's how we did it.

Switching the rod to the left hand takes a millisecond and I'm not even aware of doing it, it just happens.

I'm right handed and I reel right handed. Only because I started that way as a kid.

Cast right, reel right. My right hand is faster and definitely brighter than my left ;)

I feel really stupid because I answered the poll incorrectly. I thought you meant with what hand I reel.... Anyway, Right handed and reel with my left. Thanks

Right-handed, cast right*, reel right.

*With one-handed rods. But with two-handed rods I cast left hand up.

I was born in the 60's and learned to fish with a spinning rod casting with my right hand and reeling with my left. This continued until 2017 when I took up fly fishing. I tried winding with my right hand, but like Greg, found it awkward. I only wind with my left hand.

Cheers,
Joe

I'm left-handed and learned to fish with my grandmother's old Bronson one-piece casting rod crappie pole (Bronson 63 ??) that was converted to "cast left-handed/reel right-handed". That preference stuck when I picked up fly fishing years later.

Right handed but will reel with either, depending on the reel.
But I always reel with my left hand when it comes to spinning.
