Never seen a Thomas rod with a removable fighting butt. Is that was this is or does this removable butt have another purpose. Does it add value to the rod?

hello, i do not remember having seen a dirigo with fighting butt before this one. they must be quite rare. many specials were built with this option, and they do not seem to change the value as long as the fight butt is still there.
