Phillipson Power Pakt -- Dry Fly Special -- 8 1/2' 5.5 oz

After I clean the ferrules and do some yard casting with it, I plan to take this one with me on a trip next month.

Will do. I need to acquire a good DT6F line first. I'm ordering one today!

I yard cast it a while this past weekend. Although there was a stiff wind, it seemed to perform well.

I'm taking it and a couple of other new-to-me rods fishing this Saturday. I'lll have a more full report after that trip.

I'm briefly hijacking this thread: concerning Phillipson's 'Power Pakt' grade name, should 'Pakt' be understood as a phonetic representation of 'Pact', or of 'Packed'? Or even something else?

Packed. As in packed, or filled, with power.

I don't know, but it is tempting to attribute to Phillipson's Swedish heritage, which would translate as pact, at the same time allowing for his customers to interpret for themselves as packed or pact.

Was common in those days to change the spelling for marketing purposes, and also to describe things as packed with power, value, flavor, vitamins, etc. For example:

In fact, it turns out the name of Mr. Phillipson's rod wasn't all that original:

Yes, I am familiar with this type of marketing speak - I was just wondering which transliteration was intended...
and also to describe things as packed with power, value, flavor, vitamins, etc. For example:

but this particular one - pakt for 'packed', I hadn't seen before. Makes sense though...
