Funny Fly Tying Mug
#1I bought myself a new work mug, and I thought some of the forum members might find it as amusing as I do.
Of course, it's funny because it's true. I've read some past posts about using pet's fur for flies. My cat's very soft tummy fluff makes for great gill, or soft hackle on a number of nymph pattern.

The fly rod not only catches trout; it is a handy fulcrum allowing me to cast to those things that seem so far beyond my grasp.

#6Our tangle mess of a Dorkie just came back from the groomer today about 10#s of hair lighter. Next time I'll tell her to save me some or cut it off before we take him in. Here in OK you'd probably not catch anything on them except catfish or dogfish.

#8Right on Joe. A Yorkie head and body coloring off a Yorkie on a long body with short legs. I need a pic of him just back from groomer and will have to post it later.

#9Funnystuff. I have a few spinners that my cat of 22 years contributed to. I used her whiskers for the tails. Our dog's hair is still used for tying the bodies of my stonefly nymph.

#10After our dog, Max the Wonderdog, gets his bath, I always comb out the underfur for dubbing. It works!

#12+1 Accurate.
Queen Kate gets a tail cowlick trimmed every 6 months and baggied up for streamers.

#13I have the same mug, sitting right here on my tying desk. Gene Trump, the artist, is a cool guy and is active on Pacific Northwest fly fishing forum.

#14PhilR does he sell them through the forum or another site do you know? I just joined the forum and am trying to search for it on there.
Thank you in advance.
