Cedar strip canvas canoe

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Cedar strip canvas canoe

Post by hatch »

Salesman sample cedar strip and canvas canoes. These were all the collecting rage back in the 90s. They don't surface much anymore. Forgive my pictures. They are actually pictures of pictures. The story is that if you bought a train carload of standard canoes from these Maine canoe companies you would get one of these, exact replica, display models for your shop.

The last picture is a closet at the Old Town Canoe Company in Old town Maine back in the 1980s. The file boxes pictured contained cards with the serial numbers, makes, models and purchasers name and address of every cedar strip and canvas canoe ever made and sold by The Old town Canoe Company since 1896.
