1904 Canadian Land Giveaway

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

This is a 60 page brochure handed out at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis by Ministry of Agriculture for Canada in 1904. I found the back cover very interesting discussing "Free Farms" for settlers in the Great Canadian Wheat Belt. Those were the days!

That's exactly how my family ended up on this side of the pond.

Hasn't been that much of a rush to Canada again until the days of the draft in the 60s.
