Black and white photography
#1I've always been a fan of B&W photography. I used to work for the local paper as a free-lancer. Everything was B&W. I had my own darkroom and would shoot at least a roll of film a day. What a thrill to see your images come up in the developer. The paper paid me $7.50 per shot they published and in the day that kept me in supplies for the hobby.
This photo was taken in an abandoned lodge in Labrador. I wondered how many years the vest had hung there and how many stories it could tell if it were able. Maybe you have been to this spot in Minipi.

#2I really like that image, that vest looks as natural as the lumber it’s hanging on.

#3Type in monochrome - under your Google Photos search bar - to find your black and whites.

#5Great photo. B&W brings out textures and contrasts that are diminished in color images. I also like how b&w gives current photos a vintage look
I spent most of my money on shotguns, fly rods, guitars and banjos. The rest I just wasted. (Apologies to W.C. Fields)

#12I’ve been told this was 1958. I would have been four.
Fresh back from my first fishing trip with my grandpa in Golden, Colorado; my father had to dig up our backyard septic (cesspool) for “issues”.
My mother and father tell the story that I took a stick/pole (was it bamboo?), crudely tied on kite string, attached an open safety pin to the end of the “leader” and sat with my dog Poke, dangling the hook in the hole……trying to catch…..a……brown? ;-) Hoping to duplicate the success I had fishing with Grandpa.
I guess I could post this in the “my first rod” thread.

#15Nice shots Brian. There's a lot to be said for timing too.
Pyramid Lake Nevada, This guy had a big Lahonton Cutthroat on and was being towed around. I waited until he was in line with the moon. My son couldn't find his cell phone so we yelled out to this guy and asked if he had a phone. He did and called my sons number and we found the phone down his waders. I sent a copy of the photo back to him as a thank you. So timing 3 times over.

#17Very nice Wiscoy! It's nice to have a large negative to work with. I need to dig out my film cameras again.
