I was a 20+ year pro "back in the day" of film. This is part of a series I did on Valley Forge park's, Valley Creek, circa mid 1980's. All are "selfies" using infrared film at well known points along the stream, from mouth to feeders. This shows the locally iconic covered bridge, sadly, no longer a good spot to fish due to siltation, this tough suburban limestoner's biggest problem. I loved creating this little series. Salad day's stuff, now.

Camera: Mamaya RB67
Lens: 80mm
Film: Konica 120 infrared & #25 red filter.
Slik tripod for 4x5 format & a manual self timer.
Printed on a Luminos fine art textured paper, sepia toned and coffee soaked.

What a scene, to see me charging through the stream in full waders and loaded vest, grabbing my pre-rigged rod, w/tippet wrapped around a rock, to create a hook set bend, then posing just right, all in 10 seconds. Repeat, repeat, repeat. I sold a bunch of this one framed.

I spent most of my money on shotguns, fly rods, guitars and banjos. The rest I just wasted. (Apologies to W.C. Fields)

I've been (slowly) working on a project documenting what I feel are some of the more visually appealing steps and tools involved in rodmaking.

These are a couple test shots from a recent shoot.
