St George Jr era's
#1So, how many era's of St George Jr production (sans the reproductions of the 1990's and later) are there?
Here are a few pictures of St George Jrs
Three screw type 1
Three screw type 2
Two screw (from Bob Selbs site)

#4You could add the late war/post war version with the plated line guard instead of agate to the list.

#5A newbie dream reel of mine. I just gotta have a Junior ringer. Probably gonna need a whole new blank, too.
More pics, please.

#6If you are going for a Hardy Sgt. George Junior in LHW its the 1998 replica you will have to go for: 1500 were made with an individual number and reel makers stamps inside. No 0 to 500 were RHW as before, the actual replicas, no. 501 to 1500 were LHW and not replicas because Hardy the Sgt.George Junior, before that, never were offered in LHW.

#7+1 great photo. I'm so very excited to be RHW. It puts me in a pounce mode. One day.

#8FWIW. I don't know if these photos apply correctly for this thread but here are a couple of photos of the more current St. Georges I have. Both are LHW. The 3" is from 2010 and the Jr. is from 2017. Both are dead mint. Neither one is numbered internally but the Jr. has the letters "XD" stamped internally on the inside back of the frame. Enjoy!

#9I’m interested in the reels before the modern reproductions.
Well maybe the topic becomes a ‘show me your St George Jr’ picture topic

#11Gary Siemer offered one (a non-repro Jr.) for sale on the VFT site:
https://www.spinozarods.com/products/ha ... y-reel-lhw
The reel appears to be correct with the “Junior” script and 3 screw spool latch.
If correct, as the saying goes, never say “never” with Hardy’s.

#12Early lefties weren't catalogued but could be special ordered for an upcharge. I have personally seen a handful over the years. The last was a barn find that showed up on eBay a few years ago. Well-used but intact. They are difficult to find, but not impossible. Keep a sharp eye out, remain patient and be ready to pounce.
Re: St George Jr era's
#13yes A Hardy Sgt. George Junior from the 1930th./ early 1940th. But sadly someone had polishen it some years ago. Quite well Done but its polished and the value goes down a lot on the market for an item like this. Watch out for these Shiny Older Hardy reels, not all that glitters are gold! To check! The brass details and the check. A true Hardy in ”spritfire” WW2 finish Will have one check only (due to lack of materials) and Will probably be stamped with JS inside (the reel makers stamps, Jimmy Smith. Probably the only Hardy reel maker employed with reel making during part of the war-period. Others Hardy reel maker were in the war or made more war-related items) Brass details around 80 years old Will not Shine! Ps: Great to read Spinozarods honest presentation of the reel! Ps: Pictured here the inside of a Hardy Uniqua 33/8" in "spitfire" WW 2 finish.cregb wrote: ↑11/25/22 20:35Gary Siemer offered one (a non-repro Jr.) for sale on the VFT site:

#14This one has very similar (same) to the second three screw latch Jr I posted. Especially the positioning of the screwscregb wrote: ↑11/25/22 20:35Gary Siemer offered one (a non-repro Jr.) for sale on the VFT site:
