................. Gentlemen - start your engines !!
...... We're only about a week out on BambooBash23 and if
....... you are returning to Townsend this spring you'll surely recognize:
- the 'can't be beat, full spread' Bamboo Grill-out[/b] at Metcalf Bottoms
... (Thurs 20th, 1pm, this year featuring 'R&R Deli' grilled brats with all the trimmings !)
- the expanded Casting Lane and LineLab (w/ over 40! different lines spooled up)
- another Saturday morning TackleTalk, this year with the Great Smoky Mtns NP Fishery Biologist, Matt Kelp
If you are a first-time Basher, prepare for a full dance card in what is reported as a Glorius Appalachian Spring!
..... (Plus a couple of surprises! ... you must be present !!)

It's been a good year fishing by all reports, and you can update what to expect by perusing the
Fishing Reports from our Ace Sponsor, Little River Outfitters just down the street from Docks:
........ https://littleriveroutfitters.com/pages ... report.htm

Since all of our on-site activities and region-wandering is subject to the BASH Golden Rule:
'Mother Nature Bats Last' ... here's a NOAA weather-eye for BASHland:
........ https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.p ... Daw6ebMKUk

Lastly, keep in mind the new Parking Pass requirements for all vehicles within the GSMNP boundaries:
......... https://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/ ... 0/-83.6937 ...... (note the kiosk at Metcalf !)

........................ AND: Don't Forget Your Camp Chairs !!!
See you in the Smokys !!

Hey all - just confirming that the Elliotts, Gary and Carol, will be in attendance at the Bash for our second year with you all. We'll be with friends in Tellico Village (Loudon) the first half of the week and then with friends at Bamboo Bash for the second half. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Hi Gary -
Glad to hear it ! We will start our set-up on Wednesday afternoon,
and a few of us will be around trying out the Lane.
So, if you & Carol get the notion ... stop by !

Looks like about as good an upcoming weather report as we've had forecast for the bash in a while. Ought to be plenty of dry-fly action going on!

Hal,

That's what I want to hear!

I'm going to be gathering stuff up this weekend and leaving home very early on Wed morning.
After a lot of research, I've started making some hollow-built rods. I'll have my first two hollow rods with me.

I should be pulling into town sometime Wed afternoon.

We are honored to have you join us. I believe you’ll have a grand time.

Vern,

Can’t wait to see you (and your dizzying array of tackle).

Safe travels gents.

Thank you for the kind words Vern,
It has been a while but always have a great time in the Smokies. My parents moved to western NC in '89 and I occasionally fished it with my Dad up until he passed a few years ago so those streams have definitely had their effect on me and my 673 (will have a few with me and at least one available along with a bunch of TEST rods and one-off builds if anyone is looking for a great deal on a rod or two).

Gravlax!? Talk about a motivation to get there early - Wow!

……………….
BREAKING NEWS !

Live! from BambooBash World Headquarters
( otherwise known as Docks Motel in Townsend TN )
this is early-bird Tunafart reporting for the duration of BashWeek!
The current weather would make even the Chamber of Commerce officials blush
with clear blue skies and mid-fifties. Eagles, swallows, mergansers and Canadas
are puttin’ on a show overhead. To our interests, the Little is running gentle mid-flows
and literally gin-clear past the back porches at Docks. But no hatch in evidence, yet.
That’s our ‘gage rock’ centered in the picture. I’ll check out the Middle Fork flows later this afternoon.

This morning I will be gathering up and prepping some of our site camp equipment and
touching base with our Good Sponsors like Little River Outfitters and the Townsend IGA grocers.
If you have the ability, the early week weather promises the best, so come on in if you can.

So, HQ Status is: GOOD !
