Hi,
Recently acquired this English made rod and would appreciate some help in identifying a maker and era. I have no knowledge of English built rods, and a search on this forum seems to point to either a Modern Arms Co or a Bampton rod.
The rod is a two=piece 7' (no spare tip) and has a "Made in England" script & a "Brook" script along with two labels (see photos below). The male ferrule is a spike tipped ferrule sized 13/64. The reel seat has a Hardy appearance, no stamped lettering on it and a removable "fighting butt cap". The bottom piece has two stripping guides and the tip has casting guides but the rings are missing on all 4 guides.
Any additional insights would be greatly appreciated & thanks in advance

#2Your rod was made by MARCO better know as Modern Arms Rod Company. They were making bamboo rods from the 1920s until the 1950s.
The company started in London and later moved to Kent.

#3Thanks Bill,
Did they use the spike ferrules during that entire timeframe? I'm trying to narrow down when this rod was built. Did MARCO, during that 30 year production, transition to a modern ferrule?

#4The spike ferrules would be at the earliest point in the company's production.
