(Revisited) Thomas and Thomas specialist

This is the board to ask about the identity, or for an appraisal, of a rod. Please use the outline as explained on the board. If there is a makers name, list that in the subject line. Make sure you include the length, number of sections, any identifying markings and the general condition. Adding photographs is always helpful!

That would be more like full blown dealer price, not necessarily what you could get for it, or even a dealer for that matter.

Thomas and Thomas rods have recently and sadly come off their "highs". They are remarkable rods for finish and performance. I have personally owned many and just about every one was a fine performer not to mention its cache on the stream among fellow enthusiasts. If I had the rod, as a dealer, I would price it at about $2100. Lately sold a Traditionalist, from the same Individualist series, 8', 2/2, mint condition 6 wt for $1750. As a 7 1/2', 5 wt 2100 would be more fitting. Carmine Lisella, www.jordan-millsrodco.com.

Considering T and T gets 5k for the current standard individualist, if the Specialist is as nice as the photo implies ( I’m assuming standard excellent condition), iMO 2100 is a bit low. It’s a 7’6” 4wt ( the Hendrickson with the heavy hardware is the 5). I think some of the bigger rods with the heavier hardware do realize quite a bit less. If I saw another Specialist or a Gnat for 2100 in similar condition, I’d buy it.

Is 2600- still a good "BALLPARK"?
Decided I am willing to part with it. Thanks.
