What are signs of an early ATH reel ?
What clues date this F2 Rio Orbigo ?

The early F Series reels (1982-1983) had serial numbers starting with the year followed by the production number. As an example, the serial number 8213 represents the 13 reel made in 1982. By 1984, F series serial numbers were sequential beginning at zero and ending at ~4000 in the mid 1990’s.

Based on the serial number, I would date your reel 1984-1985.

Other clues:

The outer spool gasket was discontinued in the late 1980"s
The spool handle on your reel is a leftover from the early eighties. By the mid to late eighties, the spool handles were entirely aluminum or only had two rubber o rings.
