Problems sending a PM
#1I sent a message to a board member about an item in the classifieds. It's stuck in my outbox and not showing as a sent message.
Re: Problems sending a PM
#3In response to classified scams, a policy of needing 10 posts was instituted before you are allowed to use PM's . Try placing a notice in the classifieds for the poster to contact you.

Hi Folks,
Due to the high volume of scammers hitting our members from ads posted in the Classifieds, we implemented a change to the profiles of "Newly Registered Users."
You're now required to have a minimum of 10 posts on the forum before you can use the private messaging system.
I realize this may cause problems with new members who were on the forum before the change went into place, but be assured once you reach 10 posts, private messaging will become available to you again, and you will not lose any PM's that arrived before the change went into effect.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Problems sending a PM
#6It's based on total number of posts, not total number of years as a member.

#9Understand, but it's the total number of posts that matter, not the New User status. You stay in the New User status under the forum software until you've made 10 total posts, then you become a regular Registered Member and the PM's open up.

#11prj71, drifly is correct, when the receiver opens your PM, it will automatically be removed from your outbox.
I have a couple messages in my outbox that I sent to forum members that might not be active in the forum anymore.
