who made me

Post by dder »

The hole pattern post got me thinking of a game we could play, post a picture of a spool face and then see who can name the maker of said reel, might be fun, might seem stupid but will give it a go anyway. think we all enjoy the pictures so anyone that wants to offer a guess or post some reels for us to try and Identify jump in. Heres couple to start.

Top reel is an Allcocks "Kennet". Aluminium alloy frame with a "shock proof bakelite drum". Offered with or without square line guard.

Both are American made from the same maker and NUCA got one letter of the maker's name correct.

from the clues I,ll take a guess at Steelies 2 reels, could it be National Bicycle Company? I can see a peacock in pic Brian posted but not a card player so that went over my head.

that Austin Forbes is beauty , I don,t know name, just now figured out the NBC joke(peacock) and saw the 4 suits of cards on Steelies reel. I,m old and slow and some times I fall down ,but eventually I get it. You young whipper snappers. good on you. Daryl

dder,

You posted 2 reels that got my attention. I have been wanting to know the maker of this reel for some time. Looks very similar so figured I'd post. At first I thought mine was some type of ocean city product but too good a build
