#3Hello, I cannot add anything useful, but love the red reel, pretty cool looking and it looks really well made.

#4The brass reel is a Birmingham style fly reel most likely made in the late 1800's or early 1900's. The foot isn't common, but is similar to the reel below. My guess is it is the same maker, but possibly a trade reel produced for someone else.

As for the s handle reel, I don't have a clue. The Allen head screws, bone handle, and drag position arm would lead me to guess this reel was not made by someone who produced and sold a number of reels. Having said that, I could be way off base.

#7Thanks for the info everyone. I apologize for not getting back sooner.
My son has the red reel in CA. And I didn’t realize that he had posted request for info about the same time that I had.

#9I just looked up ZYZ reel images and there were none that used cap screw (allen) construction.

Re: Reel Id
#11I did come across one potential maker of the red reel. Japanese rod/reel maker Shirakami produced a limited number of one off reels. These reels were few and far between but did make use of Allen screws. Some of these reels were s-handle reels, others were similar to the Ari t' Hart reels.
