Help! Looking for Veniard's "Cellire" Varnish #1 Clear

A place to discuss the collecting and tying of classic flies, the tyers who made them famous, the tools, materials and techniques they used as well as the waters they were designed for. While classic is generally used to describe old things, classic is also used in the sense of first class or in the highest form. Therefore a fully dressed Salmon Fly, or a Carrie Stevens Streamer are just as much classics as a Chernobyl Ant would be. Enjoy the forum.

Mark,

I've ordered from all three of these sites. One sells in a larger size can. I cannot find it here in the US and a Canadian shop that has it won't ship it to the US (regulatory stuff).

UK:
https://www.theessentialfly.com/0cellire-585-bi.html

Poland: These folks have some interesting fly tying materials that I've not seen before - worth checking out. I bought some of the "Pumpkin" colored UNI thread from them a couple of years back. They were the only shop anywhere that had it:
https://www.fishing-mart.com.pl/pl2/ven ... ish/s/1395

UK: Large can - I'm not 100% sure it's the real Cellire though. Smells like it and goes on like it but something just seems different:

Thank You, Dr. L,
I will check it out. If I can't get it here, I'm traveling to the Scotland in April, and I'll look there too.

Buy it online well in advance BEFORE your trip and have it delivered to your hotel/accomodation.
Best,
Christian

Apparently the stuff is banned on airplanes for safety reasons -so if you find it in Scotland you can’t bring it back in your luggage.

Thanx folks. I have located two sources to acquire the item. Both will be sent via mail without any issues. One form the states and the other from Germany. Scary not to have this stuff available. :) When my bottle started to run low it was spooky to think I'd have to return to the Wapsi stuff again. :)

If you find a material you like and will use, buy a lot because it WILL be discontinued.

In the past I purchased Cellire from Hunters Angling which is now Stone River Outfitters. They stopped carrying it in the last couple of years. So after being reminded by this thread and almost out of my last stash of Griffs I gave EBay a shot and ordered from Troutflies69 https://www.ebay.com/itm/323492535212 It was'nt cheap $38.25 for a jar of Cellire and a bottle of thinner but I'm pleased to report that it arrived in 14 days.Don't how that compares to the German source but just happy to have it again !!!

I have now received two bottles from two sources. One from a member here on the forum and was sent through the USPS without issue. The other came from Germany and is exactly the same bottle I have had. That bottle came through Customs and then through the USPS as well without issue as well. Both were under $11.00 each.

I want to thank all of you that have responded here. I appreciate all the input.
