Here’s my try at a hollow built Payne Canadian Canoe, recently finished and fished in Alaska.

Thank you for the kind words. I used dims from The Lovely Reed, and it turned out just as described in the book: “smooth and powerful”. Loads very nicely for roll casts as well.

Beautiful work! Where did you obtain the reel seat hardware?

Thank you all for the comments! I’m very often inspired by the rods posted here (by first timers and seasoned makers alike).

Hi Steve, the reel seat is made by Bellinger. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions about it.

Rod #6 for me fresh off the bench - PHY Para 15 with “wet” and “dry” tips. Fun build and shoots a 6 wt line like a rifle.

Superb looking rod Malcolm. I can't think of a more interesting lower handle and one that encourages the use of the bottom hand more than that one.

Just finished an 8'6" 3 piece hollow built quad with fiberglass ferrules weighing in at 4 oz for 4 and 5 weight lines. Pretty pleased with this one.

Pretty nice Bill. I saw one of your rods at the Root River fly shop with your fiberglass ferrules. It looked great.
