#767Stellar few days exploring a new-to-me blue line in the WMNF. High gradient, gin clear and quite cold (for June). Kinda wish I'd packed lighter bamboo but then howdya know. Anyways, the vintage graphite performed nicely. I've got a couple days next week to close out the mountain wanderings. It'll be a 7'6" Rawson & Perrin. Great little split cane rod for close quarters...

#771You are very lucky - reminds me of the beautiful main Housatonic and the valley in CT. Enjoyed the Housey in prime time in the day - not sure if the browns were more beautiful or the prolific hatches were more stunning.
Beautiful - you have that upper stem - enjoy, for sure...

#772Photos taken on June 21 while fishing a low gradient stream on the east slope of Laurel Hill Mountain. This stretch holds a fair number of wild brook trout, but can be tough to fish because of dense rhododendron and blowdowns.

I need to make it out to the Laurel highlands, they've been on my To-Do list for awhile now.

Re: Tiny Water Stalkers - what to enjoy besides the Boo?
#780I just started fishing for wild brook trout, like three times. Hooked a couple but didn't land any. I also discovered just how spooked they get making it more fun challenging actually. Surprised to see just how shallow of water can hold them. Some spots I'm just not able to sneak up on them due to high bank or boulders. Dry flies seem to be good enough guessing it's because the water is so shallow, another plus for me. The undisturbed beauty and solitude. That should cover it.
