Met up with Rob Hoffhines on Saturday, I had a very nice evening with him and his wife. I also was able to bring home his interpretation of a 7'6" FE Thomas fresh off the bench, it's a smooooth caster and I can't wait to get it on the stream.

Edwards Quad, 7 1/2' 3/2 5 weight Model 50. Restored by Sam Carlson, and it looks like he replaced the reelseat with one which has a little FE Thomas DNA. Really nice casting rod.

I just received this Heddon #14 Featherweight 7 1/2' 0 3/4F single tip rod, which I believe to be from 1941. Heddon is in a spiral. The varnish will be stripped and the rusty guides and stripper replaced. As Richard would say, the "bones are there" to make a fine fishing instrument. Luckily, I have a couple of Pridex reels with the long foot that balance this rod perfectly. The threading on the down locking mechanism is pushing it for "normal" length reel feet.

Whoa, was that Heddon model 14 roasted in a grill or something?

Munsey made 3pc 8ft 5wt. This one casts like a dream. On the strong side of medium. Can just cast with the tip in tight or really load it up if needed. I'm excited to put it through its paces. Paired here with a Hardy Golden Prince.

Curt Elder 7'6" 2/2 4wt. Honey Creek taper from Curt. It's on the faster side of medium with surprising power and plenty of finesse. I've got a 406 DT4 on there and it sings.

The finish is really worthy of note as well.

Very impressed so far by this rod. Can't wait to hook something big on it.ImageImageImageImage

Oh definitely. Though I am moving the ones out that don't jive with me. This one casts like a more powerful version of the Jenkins 70L.
