I have no idea what lure it casts...I'm no baitcaster. In fact I put on my Johnson spin caster (my Ambassador has a mangled foot and would mar the lovely AL over walnut DL reelseat ) and 1/4oz casting plug was pretty light. In kind-of worked, but my guess it is at least 3/8oz. Lovely rod, I'll post photos soon on another page.

#6You never know 'til you try. Seeing how it's a light baitcaster, it might be happy. Might make the butt section longer to contain the longer spinning handle.
