Walton's Thumb

or however that dang word is written! : ) Use this forum to discuss those things that are related to, directly, or indirectly, fly fishing, i.e., tackle, catalogs, single malt scotch, cigar preferences, pipes, camera gear, etc. This is sort of an off topic area but one related to bamboo and fly fishing.

Woody,

At $20 bucks I ordered one to give to a friend. Thanks for the tip! One thing, these are brand new tools. The one I have is a much older model with the serial number. I have seen the new models and they aren't made to the same caliber as the older ones. They still function the same and do everything the same though.

I've carried an Orvis nipper knife in my vest for 40 years and bought a new Walton Thumbs to carry in a 2nd vest. I don't use either that much, but it saved the day a few months ago after I had a major leader calamity.

The current edition doesn't have the cachet of the original, but it works just fine.

These all-in-one gadgets aren't always the most useful, but they are loads of fun. Like a magpie, I am attracted to shiny things!

Anyone care to provide an appraisal (please let me know if this needs to be elsewhere)? Serialized first run.
Has some very minor handling wear but otherwise appears to be in great shape.
