#62OK, I give up - How do you hold the reel on the middle rod?

#63In spinning rods (sorry) we'd call that a Tennessee handle and it would be held on with electrical tape... one of the best functionally on the spinning side for sensitivity but not aesthetically - certainly not on the fly side of the spectrum.......

#64HA! The rod was not finished yet and I was waiting for the slide bands and had not glued on the last ring of cork. Good question though...of course Duck tape was a consideration. I just thought it would be fun to have a picture of the three before the one without the bands went to its new owner.

#68Bill - those are three beauties! I would say that is most impressive to have completed three rods in such a short period of time. I hope they cast as good as they look.

#72Beautiful Matt. I love the Registered style wraps and the dark reel seat. Can't wait to see and fish them with you and Mike next month on the Western Slope.doloresboy wrote:Fresh off the bench. Bill, these took me about 5 months longer than yours!

#74Munsey, here you go. The rods are 8', 3/2 built off a modified Heddon 1 1/2F taper. Gabon ebony reel seat spacer and black and white agate strippers.

#79Well, we finally got back to showing reels. Here are three from the benches of our resident machinists. A Speyco trout reel, the new Prince George Vlad/Crenshaw reel, and a Dave49 reel. The Prince George just came in and isn't even lined yet. Just been admired. The serial number happens to be my birthday, maybe not an accident.
The red in the lettering is from the camera. It's just engraved into the titanium.

#80Yeah, I know there are four here, but cropping the bottom rod would look funny, so.....
