+4, Lee! Thanks for satisfying some of our need -- piqued by Lon's earlier post -- to see more Leonards!

Very nice, Lee. Leonard's range was astonishing, both historically and stylistically. And good for you for fishing them.

Inspired by Lon's recent post of early Leonards, and several comments mentioning that for some reason Leonards seem to be under represented on this board: Here are three Leonard DF rods, all marked Tournament, and each paired with a Hardy reel from the same era as the rod. Top to bottom:
- A 50 1/2 DF from the 1950s with a post-war 3 1/8" Perfect.
- A post-war 50DF Hunt with a Hardy LRH with 2-screw line guide.
- A pre-war 49DF with a pre-war 3" St. George.
These three outfits cover nearly all the trout fishing I do these days. I could probably be happy fishing just them for the rest of my life ... but I won't.

Thought I’d share these, left to right:

Pre ‘50s Payne 100H 3 5/8 oz paired with a 3” leaded St. George

Late ‘30s Payne 100 3 3/8 oz paired with a 2 7/8” Hodge or a leaded 2 7/8” Perfect

Early ‘30s Payne 100 3 1/4 oz paired with a 2 3/4” Robichaud or a two screw guard Featherweight

What a great thread. Now to get more rods to put these on!

Two of these Winston Perfects are the same size - one is going to the river tomorrow.

Three great rods from Mr. Lancaster.
I often come back to this picture. I so regret trading my Savage River by Bob. Was my absolute favorite rod and fished a lot. Very nice selection of Lancasters. Thanks again for the picture.

Cut me some slack. I'm retired, it's freezing here and I got nothing to do but watch the cat mine for fleas.

Inspired by Cross Creek, I recently picked up another Orvis Seven Four.

From left to right, the Howard Steere Seven Four Special circa late 1970's, the "original" style from 1980, and the "second generation" from 1993.
