Following the Classics

Post by fishugo »

Over the past few years I have tried to achieve a clearer understanding of the classic reelmakers.
This runs parallel with the fine work of
contemporary rodbuilders. None of us is working by candle light in
a peat warmed cottage; we find our peat in bottles. The satisfaction of
working in the grand tradition is the reward. Sometimes we build a few
extra to share our insights and hopefully cover some of our time.

The Meek 44 revivals are on their way to the November 15, 16 Arts of the Angler show in Danbury. The Nickel Silver and Titanium "44 Special" is made for Right or Left hand wind, measuring 2-1/2".

A fine remake of the Meek 44 which I feel is one of the finest American classic fly reels.
