It is. I took over the weekend to two local collectors to have a look at it. It’s a nice rod.

I'm in the process of restoring this Ed. Davis, Newark, NJ trade rod. The only reference that I've been able to find is a request from Dr. Todd for information on this tackle shop from the 1920s to 1940s. The Ed Davis marking is quite a bit heavier than the model #, which is the same as Folsom. Perhaps this rod was redone by Ed Davis and the Folsom scripting was removed and replaced?

I posted photos of this Heddon 8' 1½F 3/2 Folsom rod quite some time ago but the hosting site no longer exists so if you will excuse my indulgence, I'll repost them. It’s one of my favorite 8' 4 wts:

Dwight, I have always loved that rod. I am glad to see you are still enjoying it. A very rare Folsom for sure.

Thanks, Richard. I’ve used the rod quite a bit since those photos were taken but still looks pretty decent, I just didn’t feel like taking more photos given the poor lighting conditions during the evening when I posted it.

Fun seeing all these Heddons. I won’t post a photo of my 1 1/2F as the ferrules are new, and much of the rod is not original. But still a great fishing rod.
