#1411I read some comments about this rod as being fast, maybe for a bamboo rod, but I would say medium fast.cdmoore wrote:Guys sporting the Hardy rods above...can you describe the actions?

#1415Two from the house of Hardys: Hardys younger classics still going strong. In the beginning of the 1990 they were Hardys "top of the line", not just expensive back then but also very good fishing-tools and still are + its tackle that's both durable and beautiful to look at. From my fishing-trip yesterday : Hardy Sovereign Rod 8,6" # 5/6 ( 1989-1997) the reel Hardy The Golden Sovereign 5/6/7 ( 1990-1997 ) enjoy ! // Steen

#1416Here is another modern Hardy classic, a 70s era disc drag silent check Salmon Marquis 3. I caught this Restigouche Springer using a Scott MacKenzie 18 ft spey rod with a Carron 90 ft. head spey line and a vintage 1/0 white winged Akroyd Dee spey fly. While wading in waist deep water, I was working a mid stream run at Home Pool, making a series of 150 foot casts. This hen took within seconds of the Akroyd starting to swing, blowing up and clearing the water by 6 feet and hooking herself. This was a new personal best long distance thrilling hookup. Many thanks to Restigouche River Lodge guide Paul for motoring upstream to net her.
