A nice little Hardy gem, your Hardy the Sunbeam, made between 1924 and 1956, yours are from the early days and it was made between 1924 and 1933 ( seen on the spool-locker ) Does your little Hardy-gem have the initials of the Hardy reel-maker stamped inside ? // Steen
*Just checked, had forgotten both are Wilf reels

I will check and get back to you, Steen. I used to have all three models, largest one is listed at Frazier Mountain, and is in ex shape with incredible patina.

A Restigouche River Lodge platinum blonde Salar springer from Ledges Pool. The leaper was caught with a 1910 Leonard Raised pillar knuckle buster on a graphite Bruce and Walker 16 foot Norway spey rod. Expertly netted and successfully release by RRL guide Raymond.

A 31 lb. silver springer from Jim’s Run on the Restigouche Salmon Club water below the Matapedia. This was landed with a 1914 Hardy 4 1/2 inch wide body Silex on a 15 foot spliced cane Sharpes Scotty spey rod.

I agree... that is admirable and inspiring both!

" Just once I wish a trout would wink at me. " ~ Brian Shaffer

Step up to the plate with any lumber you want.

Prototype Perfection Fly Reel on the Kenai River. Unfortunately, plans were stolen by machinist who was fired and disappeared. Thinking of reviving it. It was a more refined version of the earlier Jancuiras version.

Just reread this and now it seems kinda whiney, history can be spooky.

One (of two) yesterday on it's way back to Lake Huron, on a replica Hardy Wye (hollow) 11' 7wt. and Hardy Ocean Prince (wide) reel produced between 1985 - 1995

I used this old warrior, an 1887 four inch Hardy Brass and Ebonite Salmon reel with a 13 foot Sharpes spliced cane rod to land this 15 lb. Restigouche River Atlantic Salmon from the Poker Pool. Cane rods seem to bring out the best in Atlantic’s and this little beauty jumped seven times including one spectacular triple gainer. Congrats to guide Sandy from the Restigouche River Lodge for a difficult netting and release along a deep fast flowing river bank.

How great to see a reel like that in use so many decades after it came out of Alnwick!
