I know this isn't a classic and wasn't sure to post this here or in the appraisal section. Any help on the value? It is slightly used with no
apparent wear, in the neoprene case and box. Thanks in advance.

There is one on the Just Reels site which is going for pretty good money. I do however know of some brand new ones tucked away in a European dealer's
shelves going for 285 euros to which a US buyer would have to add international shipping and import duty.

Thanks Sevilla! Can't believe it's worth that asking price on Just Reels. If so, it's worth more than my 401K!

Wow! That is an awful lot for a SM/Vision 1.
They show up on eBay with decreasing regularity and usually go for $300-400 if Mint/NIB. The San Miguel (older model w/ no porting) usually sells for a bit more than the Visions do. There was a SM1 with a spare spool that just sold for $511 last week.

I sold a SM 2 Mint never used a while back for $475
I prefer the design and size / weight for a bamboo rod myself over the 1, but that depends on what size rod you are fishing. These are very elegant reels. I wanted a nice reel to fish and ended up with a 3 1/4" Bougle IV. I am very happy with the choice and use this reel all the time now, even added some spools. Alan |

doloresboy wrote: So noted. When this reel came in I was at a loss as to its value also. It was one of five different reels sent by the same guy for sale on consignment. I allow my sellers a lot of latitude when selling on consignment. This guy put what I thought was a "too high" price on all five reels. Interestingly, two of them sold within a few days at the price he set. Sometimes dealers don't have all the answers and more often than you'd think something sells for quite a bit more than one would guess. After all, it only takes one guy willing to pay that price. I'll let the board know if the Ross Vision One sells at this price. |

I promised to let everyone know when this reel sold. It actually was claimed the same day much of this discussion took place. However the buyer also wanted a
rod which I needed to order and since I don't consider anything "sold" until it's paid for I didn't bring it up here at the time.
However, the rod arrived and the reel has sold for what it was listed for to a very happy buyer who's also looking for a Vision #2.

JR That dealer's Visions are still available. Your buyer could have it for $575 assuming a 25% import duty and the current euro exchange rate. If you want
the details, let me know.

Thanks JR! I just saw where one sold on ebay for $600.00! I must say I'm suprised.

That sale and the one I sold flushed out more. I just got a shipment of one each in all three sizes. Truth is, along with the almost identical San Miguel, they
were the best trout-sized reels that Ross has done. I'm not surprised that there's a fair amount of demand for them.
