Do you know whether it's a 9050, or a 9053?

Hi Teter, I do not know if it is a 9053 or what. It feels good in hand , has a tip of .077 over varnish and down below t/top 3/8 inch. Probably cast a 5dt.
Balances with a 1494 . Flexes 2/3 of rod . A couple of wraps where replaced. Thanks

Sounds about right for a W&M 9050, based on my own; if you can measure the ferrules, I think a 9050 is 18/64 at the butt ferrule and 12 at tip, and the rod
should weigh around 5 1/2 - 5 3/4 oz., since the advertised weight of 5 oz. did not include the reel seat. Not sure about the ferrule size on a 9053 but the
weight would be a little over 6 oz. The real Granger experts on the board might have better information. As for value, if it's a 9050 with one tip but
other wise good, maybe 150-175

Trust me, I have often paid too much...if you plan to fish it, and you have a ton of fun with it, who's to say what is too much. The 9050 is a nice rod. |
