Todd:
I have a 1350 that is a "Rebuild", as inked on the rod, that apparently has the original ferrules on it. Based on what I have, the female ferrule on the butt of yours is a replacement. The one on the mid-section is apparently the original. I have no earthly idea who actually made mine. All I know is that some unknown individual wrote "Rebuild for Bob Connell 1992" on one flat, "Texas Bug Rod" on another, and, finally, "#1350" on one, using white ink yet. To add insult to injury, they used a hideous, poor example of a red/white jasper thread to redo all wraps. The wrap job, in and of itseldf, is not bad, and they made a concerted effort to match the signature and trim wraps to the original. On the positive side, it is complete and all sections are equal length. What is the thread color on yours, and how long is it? Mine is 9 1/2 ft. Don't know that I have helped you any. Frank |

Since Shakespeare didn't make fishing rods until the advent of fiberglass in the late 1940's. Bamboo rods were made for them starting in 1935 with a
supplier of bamboo rods change to South Bend; even though Heddon & Montague still furnished rods to Shakespeare. Since the Bass Bug rods were made in 1936,
it's a get out the magnifying glass inspection to compare manfacturers hardware; especially if the rods may be newer than older.
