I have a Jon Parker rod that has the sliding ring mount for the reel, but the base shoe on my pflueger medalist is to thick for the ring to slide over.
It's a 6 ft 5 wt rod. Any recommendations for a reel with a thinner shoe?
Thanks

Dingley reels have a very thin base ; I have found Walker Bampton reels have a relatively thin base (foot) also.

Have you tried a replacement foot from One Pfoot?

Try a Ross Gunnison | #4 | ||

The Ross Gunnison reels have a very thin foot and are really great reels. I have a pre-98 version that I love to death. You can find them occasionally on
the 'site that cannot be named' for about $150.

I think it's the profile of the foot more than the thickness now that I really look at it. I'm looking at the pfoot now, but I'm keeping my options
open.
