I'm no English scholar, but are they trying to protect their chastity or their liquor?

At the risk of offending someone's dear relative, I would have to say that these gals would make a freight train take a back road. I can think of some
other comments, but I have learned to keep them to myself.

Yikes, looked at the photo and choked on my coffee. Need to have a drink to steady myself (and ward off these gals).
Often I have been exhausted on trout streams, uncomfortable, wet, cold, briar scarred, sunburned,
mosquito bitten, but never, with a fly rod in my hand have I been in a place that was less than beautiful.

So, sailors have the saying "Any port in a storm". In this case, I think the sailors would be talking about a tawny port, the older the better.

A couple of those gals look like they've had a few and the rest of them look like they could use a few.

I was actually looking for my Grandmother in that picture. She was from Montana and was also a card-carrying member of the Women's Christian Temperance
Union (WCTU). By the time I came along, I don't think they were still having meetings, but I did see some of her correspondence from the organization. I
have to assume that as an adult, I would have been a great disappointment to her in regards to my attitude towards temperance.
I'll think about that photo as I sip a cheap single malt this evening. Dean D

Reminds me of a something Gary LaFontaine told me about an unnamed (to protect the innocent) Montana town, ". . . where the ugliest dog was prettier than
the best looking woman."

I was in hopes this picture had gone away, but I see it has not. At the risk of being censored, I am going to repeat a comment we used to ( and still do
sometimes) make that those gals are "uglier than a barrel of buttholes, and a freshly cracked barrel at that." I think I would just as soon stare
down into a barrel of floating buttholes as look at those gals another time.
