This weekend was fine for weather and I didn't see another fisherman, even though I was fishing "in town". Friday I used my 7 1/2-foot Cunningham Premier and Peerless 1A and today opted for my 7 1/2-foot Orvis Far & Fine and Fenwick World Class 1.

I, for one, am glad our fishing season has no beginning and no end. There's just something about fishing alone on a not-too-sunny November day. The colors
of autumn make the browns (and the occasional rainbow) look even brighter. And the BWO's were hatching for hours...

Scott,
Different worlds. I was in central Massachusetts. Very cool that we could both be out in mid-November!

Scott,
Same here in the east. Slate River, rgram, Marty, Rolf and me fished olives all weekend on a PA spring creek. Temps got near 70 today and sun was shining. Actually seems the fish here get on the bugs better when it's cooler... 40-50 degrees not 70. We go through till about the 2nd week in December with olives and then again usually around February 15th. After living in Maine,( which I absolutely loved) I love the winter fishing in Jersey and PA. |

While you were all out there standing in the middle of a stream, I was spending a beautiful Fall day wishing that our fishing season hadn't ended at the
end of September.
Flyman - next time you decide to go out for the afternoon, give me a call. It's only a 600 mile drive from the Twin Cities, and I'm sure I could talk my wife into letting me go! Great pics! Drool all over the keyboard (again). Dean D

same story in Boulder today.....fished Boulder Creek for 2 hours right above town....one parachute adams.....caught about 15 fish.....this creek is notorious
for small browns, some "fling over your shoulder as you set the hook" small. this one was a bit surprising although there are some decent sized fish
in there......no sign of other fishermen, just the whole town exercising on the creek path

Beutiful pics all. I am now chomping at the bit to get out, but alas, the weather says rain this weekend, and the wife says LEAVES. I am truly saddened right
now, I have finally taken the plunge and decided to abide my Doctors advice, after too many years of procrastination I will be getting a bright shiny spanking
new Hip , professionally installed (the home kit was cheaper but the wife refused to help, what could I do?) by an actual doctor. Installation date is ..April
12th, with probably 6 weeks of limited activity and no driving to follow. By the time I am able to get on the streams next year trout fishing will have largely
passed as the streams warm up into late june and july. I am looking at a full year off, and I am none too happy about it.

Great pictures guys. I managed to get out last Friday and had a pretty good day on the Big Thompson near Loveland. Scott, I thought of you and wished you had
been with me. Beautiful time to be in the Rockies and the Griffiths Gnat was bringing them up. Don't you just love Fall?
Gary.

The wind was blowing hard upstream and I went deep. This November rainbow grabbed a Leadwing Coachman fished on my Thramer Gillum Trout. |
