lovely 4" malloch 4" brass and ebonite sun and planet with nickel rims
lovely brass and ebonite sun and planet 3.75" with nickel silver rims (the only reel under 4" in my collection)
an unusual addition for my collection but i like garry mills very much and his reels are so well made im slowly building up a collection within a collection , this is the "roach perfection" its a stunning trotting reel with removable lineguide , brand new but still stunning in design..
this is the "turnbull of edinburgh " gilt gold shop display sign , only 4 were made and 4 hardy ones too , truly stunning and now i got 1 of each
this was an unexpected purchase , i thumbed through it and realised that there were about 5 reels in there that are in my collection , so i just had to have it , a few of the reels should be in my images if you want to look..
upon closer inspection..i have reels that are the exact same as lots 337 (the farlow patent lever , 338 (the malloch platewind) , 342,(the g.litle ebonite) , 346 (the cf walsh eaton and deller) , 351 (the horwood) , 352 (the un-named perth reel) , and finally the sherrifs perth reel on page 40 but there are very subtle differences between those and mine and im 100% sure none of these reels are mine , so they are still out there ..i will track them down one day!!
all in all it was a good sale , the crack was good , most buyers and dealers seemed happy , there was something for everyone and once again all praise to the staff at mullocks for their wonderful efforts and exellent service , on a final note i would be letting you all down if i didnt make some kind of stupid mistake during the whole trip from the highlands of scotland down to north wales , despite the fact i got some contaminated petrol on the way down which led to a "misfiring fault light " coming on in the car and making me panic and drive slower than i normally would .. we were really pressed for time and due to arrive about 9 .30am , which is too late i looked at the sky and thought "bloody hell it gets light pretty late around here" so i looked at the sat nav which read 7.46am and then looked at the car clock which read 7.45am ..then for some reason i looked at my watch which read 6.46am..then i realised ..shit . i forgot to put the sat nav and the car clock back an hour in conjunction with bst winter times...i gotta be honest i felt such a tit , but "TIT of the Week" surely goes to a fellow forum member and mullocks virgin who programmed his sat nav with the postcode on the reverse of the mullocks catalogue which took him to mullocks headquarters in church stretton and not the desired location at the racecourse in ludlow.. 3 cheers please.... hip hip hooray..
