This forum began as Clark's Classic Bamboo Rod Forum, founded by Clark Davis for all who share a passion for classic rods. The forum is now owned by Whitefish Press aka Dr. Todd Larson - banjo.
For those who don't use English as their primary language we now have a translator for your language of choice hosted by Google.
Marty, you do walk some very beautiful spots - many thanks for sharing - those images will definitely go into replay mode during my winter work-meetings. The
recent Granger images ( yours and Telecasters.jeffsbear's) especially struck me also - I remember well the shape of the 7030 grip and that clean reel seat
design as you captured them - the images were very pleasing.
I, too, get a little antsy when the hiker or car pulls along and chants," Any luck?" Fortunately, I intentionally avoid the polished look (not hard),
no vest and such, and I answer, "Nope, just a nice walk in the woods. Not much in here." The best answer so far was from a fellow who was hiking with
his family," Yeah, sure, sure, that's a pretty nice walking stick - Heddon, right?"
I remember a post on this forum from a stalker who favored the smallest eastern cricks and claimed that he liked the shortest multi-piece rods - he'd leave
a case on entry and leave only with a supposed "walking support" as he hiked out. Incognito was a joy for him - sometimes all this company here will
make you that way.

Hello from Eastern Idaho. I'm new to this forum and new to Bamboo. Thought I would share a photo or three of some of my favorite streams here. Most fly
roders assemble along the shores of either the Henry's Fork or the South Forks os the Snake River. I fish them too but now and then, I disappear where few
others go.
I have a fairly large inventory of wild trout streams here in the Laurel Highlands and I'm always looking for more. This is one that I've only fished a
couple of times over the last ten years, but it's beautiful and has a good population of fish. It has the state's highest water quality designation and
is reported to have wild rainbows--scarce in PA--in its extreme upper reaches. I haven't seen any here, but have caught a number of them in two of it's
very tiny tributaries.
A nice example of rural southwestern Pennsylvania architecture--I never tire of it:
Alan,
Very, very special - I must admit that your area has spectacular hideaways... thanks for taking us along...
That feeling of familiarity in a tiny water is nice to cherish. In my crowded section of the East, it is hard to find such a spot of seclusion and quiet from
others. I do enjoy one short "hollow" where I have yet to see another and all still seems pristine - several years now - but the price is a fair
drive. One day after returning from a good day in that thicket, rock hopping, and admiring a few natives, I proclaimed to my wife, "Nope, no one there
today either." A few minutes later, she asked,"What's that on your back?" It was a rather good sized black wet fly with a spinning blade
that was hanging on the back of my shirt - not known to me, previously. Musta caught on me as I worked under a branch in "my" hollow...
Oh well, I would really rather share the hollow, really...

What a lovely discussion, photos, etc.! My last dozen fish this season were Brookies from the North Branch of the Ausable, all dressed up for love making.
Beautiful fish!
