Wow, you are truly an artist. Outstanding. Here is a pic of my latest. A the Dickerson medium action taper. Now it is no work of art being my 5th rod. I do
really want to strip it down and re do the wrappings that are a bit blotchy.

Hard to see in pictures but the inlay on Gnome's latest work is quite detailed. The butt cap has inlays of turquoise dancing fish that mirror those on the
rod case. The butt cap also screws in and out to accomodate various size reels. The bronze reel seat hardware is also inscribed. Best of all it has a faster
powerful action which is what I asked for. The rod is nicely balanced and feels very light considering the weight of the mortised grip; this is very intriguing
and I look forward to fishing the Fox Family rod. Aesthetics is a bonus, but at the end of the day I want a rod that has the action that I requested in my
order with a rod maker. The Gnome accomplished both on this/my rod.

Jeff,
Many thanks and I am pleased that you are happy. I edited your post andf I changed the brass to bronze. It is High silicon content scuptural bronze . And is a very durable and lovely metal to work with and being cast it traces its roots back to the bronze age and the romans and their incredible sculpture work done 2,000+ years ago. Thanks again and I am looking forward to seeing pictures of you and your first fish on it. Humbly your gnome Jeff |

Very Nice, Marty. I like the proportions on your small rods. I've heard of that rod but figured it would have a butt swell. Do you think the original
came from a tip and mid, sort of like the Heddon Princess? How does she cast?

Thanks guys.
The taper I had does not show a swell . The original could have been a mid & tip, anything is possible. I always prefer the casting ability of short rods without swelled butts. I just lawn cast it and it's a nice medium action rod that handles a DT-2 very nicely. |

Jeff,
Lovely rod. There will come a time, IMHO, when these Gnome rods will be considered a pinnacle, rods in a small pantheon of the finest made in this era. The usual kudos & best holidays to you! Pat
