New book from one of our fellow members now available for orders. Expected availability this April. If I have kept up with things here, I believe other forum members may have contributed. I certainly look forward to recieving and reading.
I'm looking forward to the new book by Hoagy. The Anglers' Club of NY articles that have appeared over the years should be terrific for all to read. The biographies especially the in depth one on Ed and Jim Payne and others I'm sure will be enlightening. I know he got a bunch of help from forum members so it should be terrific! Count me in for a limited edition.
There appears to be a slight "glitch" in placing an order. When I process payment through Paypal, it invoices me for 4.2% NH sales tax. NH is a tax-free state. Not sure what's up but I have not put my order through yet. If someone gets news that this is fixed, please let me know.
A name like "Mainiac" and you're trying to get NH sales tax rates on it? Just kidding. Most of the time sales tax is associated with the shipping address.
Just my opinions, as stated previously if one disagrees or thinks I'm FOS, then just ignore anything I have to say...
Previews suggest this will be a must-have for anyone with an appreciation for the histories behind some of the great names, and Hoagy's eye for technical photography makes for a visual feast in some areas (Kosmics!!!!!!). Do I like the book? Youbetchum.

Ordered my copy today from website, but sent a check in rather than online... there was a shipping fee which is normal, but no tax at all....
I ordered the book, can't wait reading those articles on Vince Marinaro and Jim Payne. Also as a learning experience and building up my (modest) historical background. Thank you Hoagy!
The book will ship in the first week of May. Proof copies have arrived, I'll shoot some photos in the next few days and put it up. Spectacular is the only word for it...
When I read on this board that you folks - Whitefish Press - picked up publishing (??) of the limited edition copy, I was wondering how that might effect the less expensive edition, but I think you answered my question and really looking forward to this.
Just received my Ltd. ed. Very nice production and complimentary in design to Hoagy's The Grand Cascapedia River A History. Looking forward to starting in this weekend. My thanks to Hoagy and all who assisted.
Ok, I admit, I got my copy in the mail on Friday. Oddly enough, I had forgotten that I ordered it I wasn't entirely sure what I was expecting from it, but after opening it up and paging through it, I was pleased. Old photos tend to do that to me. After reading it, I'm in complete agreement with Jeff.
"Chapeau Bas", Mr Charmichael on a fine addition to my library.

Gentlemen: In hopes of stemming any more confusion, please understand that the copies of "8" that have been shipped by me are essentially all limited edition copies. For reasons that I still don't understand, the printer/binders sent all 100 copies of the limited edition to me by air (at their expense) almost four weeks ago, and I have been sending them out as time permits over the past few weeks. The regular edition copies will arrive at my door this coming week, and then I will be able to begin shipping to those who ordered that edition.
I am sorry for the confusion, and can easily see why some thought I was not attending to their orders. My thanks for your patience, and know that if you ordered a book it will be yours to have and to hold with two weeks time. The response to the book has been wonderful, for which I thank everyone who has spread the good word.
My wife and I were away hiking/sight-seeing up in Nova Scotia the last week... when we finally got home again, I picked up our mail and "the book" was there among all those adds and bills waiting on us... this book looks like a "keeper", very nice job...
What a great read... enjoyed the whole book but the last chapter on Ed & Jim Payne was special... Dr. Holden & Chauncy Lively were impressive also... Kudos all around!!!!
