Snopping around ebay I came up upon a bamboo rod that is named Lyons and Coulson "Imperial". The seller claims that the rod was made by Heddon.
Is this true? If so did Heddon build rods for anyone else? Thanks.

Yes, Heddon made rods for L&C and Mr. Sinclairs book on Heddon rods lists over 75 other company's that they made rods for.

Flyster,
I would be careful with the Heddon Label. The cork, seat and ferrules look wrong to me. But Heddon did make rods for LC, maybe not this one though. JPM |

That is without a doubt an H&I. The reelseat, ferrules, grip, and cane all are H&I. It's just barely worth what he's asking for it imo. He
should take the Heddon off of the listing.
It's an interesting rod because I've never seen a L & C made by anybody other than Heddon. |

I notified the seller and he did revise his ad and state that it might not be a Heddon. So I gave him credit for at least saying he was contacted and told it
was not a Heddon. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt. If he truely knows little about fly rods, it is unlikely he would go through much trouble to
change his ad. I don't think this is a L&C rod. Just another rod built by H-I where the (trade rod vendor....I think) used this name.
