Pat -
Dean got one also. They look very "Young" inspired and though they were likely never actually marketed, they look like a well built reel. I kindof wanted the one you got (silver and brown/maroon), but am too cheap..... Look forward to reading your assessment of it when the reel arrives. It's too bad the seller couldn't sell them as a set.... Mark B |

he tried some months ago to sell them as a set but to no avail. I am thinking he or someone else got their hands on several sets.

I just got my reel. It is a nice maroonish brown. The drag is very smooth and adjustible. I'm very pleased.

To my dismay, the reel is not easily converted to LHW. Drat!

Any ideas, Dean? Reshaping the spring or a different pawl? Bulldog?

I think it would require another spring and pawl ...like on a CFO. One set for RHW and one for LHW.

Well, I've just got to chime on this..
As mentioned, I was suspect as to the A&F reference. BUT - I was interested in any of the ones with functioning looking springs and pawls, even if it took some work - thats why I didnt bid on the Dean got. The spindle screw looked nonexistent on the verso. Dean got it and I sorta kick myself now after seeing the easy cleanup. :-) I would be interested in one RHW if you guys would want to dump it.
