What bamboo rod casts a worm the best. I have a Bradford, some Young clones, Orvis Battankills and an 856. Thanks

Uphold tradition: spring for a low grade 8½ - 9', 6 weight Montague. They were widely used for this purpose practically from time immemorial. Until the
ascendancy of cheap fiberglass rods.

You need one of the metal bait holders that attaches to you belt with a revolving cover so you can easily get at your worms.
Actually any old rod will do because you really don't cast but either 'dap' at the bank or swing your bait into the water. At least that's how we did it as kids.-Dick |

Nowowbe kind. My first rod was some kind of old bamboo trade rod that had phillips head screw in the tip to which a string was tied. 8 feet of line and a big
old #4 snelled hook completed the outfit. Caught a lot of fish on that puppy. Back when just fishing was the whole point.

Might try on of the South Bend 59, 359, etc. Quite a number still in good condition and reasonably priced.

The UP...bamboo and worm? Hmmm, if it were me I'd go old school fiberglass and worm. Better yet, green nightcrawlers injected with air via a syringe
and fiberglass and worm.
