Is this unusual? Why would it not have a serial number? Owner says it's not a kit rod. Being new to this I was just curious.

Serial # should be on both the butt section and tip section. Never seen one without a serial #. Why do you think it's an Orvis Madison Grade?-Dick |

Unless it was refinished and the varnish normally covering the serial number removed, and the serial number with it, it should be there. Do you have any
pictures? What do the bag and tube look like? Is there a label on the tube?
