Back in June I asked the question is this a replacement handle, and if it is, should it be replaced with a handle more fitting to the age of
this reel. Back in June the opinion was that indeed it was a replacement handle, but finding a original handle circa 1908 would be difficult, well
this is the replacement for the replacement what's your opinion .
   
The black handle has been replaced with a ivorine I personally think it's a positive outcome and you?....... Cheers |

yes, I would do that - looks gorgeous
I have been thinking about doing it to my Bougle mk IV to replace the wooden handle
the rods are never obsolete - the marketing is.

Beautiful! It looks as it was meant to look! That looks like the handle for the new brass faced Perfects. I'm attaching a pic of my MK IV Bougle with
its retrofit ivorine handle.
 It's the bulbous handle that was
on the Bougle' Baby. Supplied by Hardy NA at a reasonable price.

Hardy/Greys sold me the handle 'package' or assembly' or something like that...it is a handle (faux ivory), a spindle and a cup. All the metal looks like aluminum. They do very fine bidness... moderate cost and quick shipment. On my Hardy reels I had a local reelsmith do the change.
