You might try rodmaker Jim Becker of Vermont. I believe he was working at the Orvis shop during development of that taper...

Heck of a nice rod | #6 | ||
|
I once owned the one Marshall mic'd. Very nice rod that I'm sure I'll regret selling. If it helps, it had the uplocking NS seat. I owned
another one afterwards that had the sliding band. I prefered the former because it was heavier by 1/2 oz at the reel seat and I thought it balanced better
throughout the cast, though I suppose a heavier reel would do same.

4 or 5wt | #8 | ||

I didn't do any weighing of 30ft line sections, but it seems to me it liked either a 4 or a 5. Maybe Marshall has a better recollection of exact fit, cuz
he's the kind to splice silk to plastic and that sort of thing.

far n fine line | #9 | ||
|
Steve,
This is one super casting rod with a nice soft tip with less of a hinge feeling as you get deeper into the rod. Very tight loops with blistering line speed if needed or you could ease up and it worked like a trained pony. It would cast any DT4 or 5 line but I usually put a 5 on it as I rarely had more than 30' of line out of the tip. For show it would cast all of a WF5. Not sure how much the Orvis impregnation process affects this rod but it might not feel the same without it. Marshall |

thanks for the info guys, as for the impregnation issue i am interested in this taper to develope a family of tapers for the permacane procces, because
impegnation does change the action. thanks again steve
